Kampala, Uganda – 6th August 2026 – Raxio Group, operator of Africa’s widest network of data centres, has appointed Dennis Kahindi as General Manager for Uganda, strengthening its leadership team as demand accelerates for the digital infrastructure underpinning cloud computing, artificial intelligence and the digital economy.
With operations spanning Uganda, Ethiopia, Mozambique, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Côte d’Ivoire and Angola, and development underway in Tanzania, Raxio provides a fast-expanding network of data centres meeting so-called Tier III international standards for uptime and resilience. Each of its colocation facilities is carrier-neutral, giving customers the flexibility to choose their network provider to optimise performance and cost.
Kahindi brings more than two decades of leadership experience across Uganda’s technology and telecommunications sectors, holding senior roles with Huawei, Microsoft, Oracle, Liquid Intelligent Technologies and Airtel Uganda. His appointment reflects Raxio’s continued investment in local leadership as it expands in the continent’s fastest-growing and least-served digital markets.
With governments and businesses placing increased importance on retaining critical data and digital services securely within their own countries, advanced data centres have become essential infrastructure for national development, supporting everything from online banking to healthcare, education and digital government services.
“Dennis combines deep knowledge of the region’s technology landscape with a proven ability to build businesses, develop strong customer relationships and lead high-performing teams,” said Robert Skjodt, Chief Executive Officer of Raxio Group. “As demand for digital infrastructure continues to grow, Dennis’s leadership will help us deepen our partnerships and support Uganda’s next phase of digital development.”
Raxio’s focus as a pure-play data centre operator, rather than a broader diversified technology business, and its long-term commitment to the continent made it the clear choice for the next stage of his career, Kahindi said.
“What attracted me to Raxio is that it is singularly focused on building something no one else has achieved at this scale: a truly pan-African digital infrastructure platform,” said Kahindi. “It’s like any specialism. If fishing is what you do every day, you understand the waters, the seasons and where to cast your net better than anyone else. That depth of experience comes from focus and dedication. Raxio has built unique expertise by concentrating solely on digital infrastructure across Africa, and that’s a powerful advantage for our customers.”
In Uganda, rapid digitalisation across financial services, telecommunications, government, healthcare and energy is creating growing demand for trusted digital infrastructure that enables organisations to scale securely while keeping critical data closer to where it is generated.
“Digital infrastructure has become as fundamental to economic growth as transport, power and telecommunications,” Kahindi said. “Every sector is becoming more digital. Organisations increasingly want their critical systems and data hosted within their own countries, where they benefit from greater resilience, faster performance and stronger control over sensitive information.”
One of Kahindi’s immediate priorities is building deeper partnerships across the sectors driving Uganda’s digital transformation.
“Our role is not simply to provide data centre capacity. It is to work alongside customers to build the digital foundations they need to grow. Whether we are supporting financial institutions, government agencies, telecommunications providers or energy companies, our focus will be understanding the unique needs of each sector and helping them adopt digital infrastructure that enables long-term innovation and growth.”
Raxio recently surpassed US$380 million in committed capital, backed by shareholders Roha and Meridiam alongside financing from the International Finance Corporation (IFC), Proparco and the Emerging Africa & Asia Infrastructure Fund (EAAIF).
