Raxio Group’s IFC Data Centre Financing, Advised by Haynes Boone, Wins Digital Infrastructure Deal of the Year-Africa at IJGlobal Awards

16th March 2026 (London) – Raxio Group’s landmark $100 million financing from the International Finance Corporation (IFC) to accelerate the expansion of pan-African data centres has been named Digital Infrastructure Deal of the Year – Africa at the IJGlobal Awards. The award recognizes the transaction, advised by Haynes Boone, for helping meet growing demand for cloud computing, artificial intelligence services, and secure local data storage by supporting Raxio’s rollout of Tier III carrier-neutral colocation data centres across key markets in Sub-Saharan Africa.

The financing represents IFC’s largest digital infrastructure investment in Africa to date and includes concessional funding through IFC’s GROW Facility and the IDA Private Sector Window, mobilising capital for critical digital infrastructure development across emerging markets. “Reliable digital infrastructure is becoming foundational to Africa’s economic growth,” said Robert Skjødt, Chief Executive Officer of Raxio Group. “The IFC investment enables Raxio to accelerate the development of world‑class, carrier‑neutral data centres across the continent and we are proud that the transaction has been recognised as Digital Infrastructure Deal of the Year.”

International law firm Haynes Boone served as legal adviser to Raxio on the transaction, with the firm’s Project Finance team structuring and negotiating the complex cross-border deal.

“We are honoured to have supported Raxio Group in this transaction, which helps expand digital capacity across Africa,” said Conrad Purcell, Partner at Haynes Boone. “This recognition reflects our commitment to supporting investments that deliver lasting economic and social impact.”

The IJGlobal Awards celebrate outstanding global infrastructure and energy transactions. The 2026 ceremony took place on March 12 in London, bringing together more than 350 leaders from the international project finance and infrastructure investment community to recognise the year’s most significant deals.

The transaction was led on Raxio’s side by CEO Robert Skjødt, working alongside CFO Julian Johnson, Chief Revenue Officer Ryan Holmes, and CTO Robert Saunders, with Haynes Boone advising through a team led by Partner Conrad Purcell, supported by Counsel Shu Shu Wong and Associates Kayley Rousell and Zainab Al‑Qaimi.
