Our leadership team
Chief Executive Officer
Robert is CEO of the Raxio Group. He is responsible for strategic planning, leading the expansion of Raxio’s data centres across Africa, and also manages the Group’s relationship with its network of international and regional customers and partners.
Robert is also Partner at the Roha Group, a US firm that responsibly builds profitable businesses in Africa by investing in and developing new companies across the continent. Roha established and has led the development of and investment in, the Raxio Group from inception in 2018 to date.
Prior to joining Roha and Raxio, Robert was the Chief Financial Officer and Head of Smart Mobility business for Confidex, a high-growth technology company, and a Partner at Logispring, a transatlantic venture capital firm, where he served on the Board of numerous portfolio companies. He started his career in Investment Banking at Schroder Salomon Smith Barney.
Robert holds a MSc with Distinction in Operations Research from the London School of Economics, and a BA in Engineering from Dartmouth College.
Brooks is the Founder of Roha Group and serves as a board member on all of Roha Group’s portfolio companies, previously serving as CEO of Juniper Glass Industries.
Prior to founding Roha in 2013, Brooks was a consultant at McKinsey & Company and co-founded the company’s office in Lagos. He was inspired to start Roha after identifying a number of compelling opportunities across the continent, and the lack of institutions pursuing them.
Brooks holds a degree in Social Studies from Harvard College.
Frans Van Schaik
Frans is the Chairman and CEO of African Asset Finance Company Inc, and serves as a Non-Executive Director of Raxio Group. He is also a Roha partner.
Previously, Frans founded Tribute Capital, was a managing partner at Logispring, served as (interim) CEO of a number of industrial groups, was a junior partner at Gilde Investment Funds and (co-) founded several businesses before and in-between.
Frans holds a BA in history and a LLM from the University of Amsterdam, and a post-graduate diploma in International Relations from the University of Vienna.
Bernard serves as Non-Executive Director of Raxio Group and acts in several Advisory roles.
He has held senior positions in the Data Centre industry, including Managing Director and SVP EMEA for Digital Realty, responsible for managing the Company’s operations and corporate activities in EMEA, Executive Vice President of Colt Data Centre Services, a modular data centre provider and CEO of Servecentric Ltd., a provider of co-location and premium managed services to the Irish market. Also, he has served as Interim Managing Director for Interxion Ireland and Interxion Deutschland GmbH.
Before joining the Data Centre industry, Bernard has held s various IT management, operations and software development roles for multinational corporations.
Bhavik serves as a Project Manager and Investment Professional at Roha Group, and is responsible for evaluating new opportunities and managing the development of its portfolio businesses. He is the co-organiser of Raxio Group and has been instrumental in his role in developing the Raxio Group since inception.
Previously, Bhavik worked at East African private equity fund Ascent Capital, where he identified investment opportunities and nurtured portfolio companies in Uganda and Kenya.
Bhavik holds a BEng degree in Mechanical Engineering from Nottingham University.
Head of Projects
Ken is the Head of Projects at Raxio Group, where he is responsible for the roll-out and risk assessment of new facilities across Africa. He manages the acquisition of strategic site locations through interactions with local authorities and landlords, as well as driving the selection and procurement process of architects and contractors for each facility. Ken manages Raxio’s project plans, timeframes, and budgets across each project lifecycle.
Ken previously worked at Schneider Australia, where he managed multiple electrical projects for some of the world’s leading data centre players. He draws on his experience over the last 15 year of managing the life-cycle development of large-scale projects, both greenfield and expansion, for the mobile industry across Africa and Europe.
He holds a diploma in telecommunications and marketing, as well as advanced project management certifications.
VP Business Development
Kishor is the VP of Business Development at Raxio Group where he drives the evaluation of new opportunities and markets to support the growth of the company. He plays a strategic role in the expansion of Raxio Group’s footprint across Africa, helping to build strong relationships with customers and ensure Raxio is continuing to meet the growing demand for data centre services.
Previously, Kishor served as a Director at Caribou Digital, a boutique advisory services company focused on emerging markets, where he helped launch digital products and services for the private sector, governments and foundations. He has worked across 30+ countries with extensive experience in the U.S, Sub-Saharan Africa and South Asia. Prior to this, he was a strategic consultant at Booz Allen Hamilton.
Kishor holds an MBA from Duke University, an MA from John Hopkins University, and a BA from the College of William and Mary.
Ali is the Vice President of Finance for Raxio Group, having transitioned from Finance Manager at Roha Group. Ali oversees the daily operations of Raxio Group’s financial functions, including accounting, corporate finance, investor relations and more.
In his previous role at Roha Group, Ali managed finances for Roha, its subsidiaries, and its investment fund. Having previously managed the finance function for the likes of Imperial Logistics, Ali has over 13 years of experience in finance with multinational companies in FMCG and F&B sectors.
Ali holds an MBA from Griffith University and is an accredited member of CPA Australia.
General Manager, Uganda
James has over 20 years of experience in the IT industry, having served as a manager for several leading telecom companies and internet service providers. He oversees the daily business and commercial operations of Raxio Uganda, and works closely with customers to ensure a high quality of service.
James carries a wealth of expertise and knowledge about Uganda’s market dynamics, as well as an extensive network of enterprise and telco connections.
James previously held a variety of positions including Principal, Chief Operating Officer and Chief Technology Officer at Roke Telkom, a leading edge alternative internet service provider. He was responsible for the company’s technical infrastructure and planning for Roke’s operations both in Uganda and in neighbouring countries such as Kenya, Rwanda, Zambia and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Prior to Roke, James spent 5 years at MTN Uganda in various technical consulting roles, and 3 years at Africa Online in Uganda and Ghana.
Mainza is a Regional Business Analyst at Raxio Group where he is responsible for helping drive pre-investment due diligence efforts across new markets on the African continent. Mainza helps evaluate the viability, commerciality, and regulatory environment of new prospects across Africa.
Prior to joining Raxio Group, he co-founded an early stage artificial intelligence (AI) startup focused on building AI-driven impact solutions for Africa. Mainza also previously worked in investment roles in Asset Management and Private Equity in San Francisco, Johannesburg and Mauritius.
Mainza holds a degree in Economics from Ohio Wesleyan University.
