Raxio has today officially launched Uganda’s first state of the art Tier III carrier-neutral data centre at its site in the Kampala Industrial and Business Park (KIBP), Uganda.
Data Centres have a great amount of equipment and it is very important to keep the temperatures at a consistent level because, a rapid rise in temperature can lead to electronic equipment failure and reduced efficiency of computer systems, which can negatively impact uptime.
“There’s a need for Data Centres to start penetrating Subsaharan Africa in order to create the right environment for CDN penetration.” said James Byaruhanga, General Manager at Raxio Data Centre during the Carrier Community (CC) Webinar live that took place on 2nd November, 2020.
In order to stay ahead of future IT cable installations and maintenance, Raxio Data Centre (RDC) has strategically installed gangways into its facilities as a long-term solution to provide easy access to the TATE ceiling, which will be suspended and supported off the gangways.
Raxio Data Centre is officially the First Tier III Certified Data Centre in Uganda after receiving the Uptime Institute Tier III Certification on 20th October, 2020. This was achieved after a diligent assessment and evaluation by expert teams from The Uptime Institute in the United States and the United Kingdom to ensure it meets the stringent requirements of Uptime’s Tier III Certification.
